THE RE-OPENING PLAN FOR THE SCHOLASTIC SESSION 2020-2021

Greetings from English Language Private School, Dubai.
Safety of students is of utmost importance and remains our top priority. The school is striving towards achieving the best possible measures to ensure the well-being of our students.
The Re-opening Plan proposed by the school has been approved by the KHDA which is a Blended Model.
Here is the brief outline of the plan:
KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
The fee structure for the scholastic session: 2020-2021 remains the same as of 2019-2020. No fee increment has been added.
The school will follow the Blended Learning Model from 30th August, 2020.
During the first and the second week from 30th August, 2020 to 10th September,2020, students from Year 7 to Year 13 will attend the school on alternate days (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday) Time-table will be published on EduPage. 50% of students from each class will attend classes in the school campus while the remaining 50% of students will attend virtual classes at the same time using same timetable and resources. The students will visit the school for learning on rotational basis. The class –size will not exceed 15 students ensuring a distance of 1.5 metres between all students.
Week 3 & 4 (from 13th September, 2020 to 24th September, 2020) will continue with students from Year-3 to Year-13. The same approach will be followed. The class –size will not exceed 15 students ensuring a distance of 1.5 metres between all students. During the days, while students are at home, synchronous/asynchronous time-table will be followed. Students will be assigned research work or other assignments based on the topics covered during the live classes.
Week 5 & 6 (from 27th September to 8th October, 2020) will continue with students from FSs to Year-13. The same approach will be followed and students will be sitting at a distance of 1.5 metres.
Children with any chronic illness will remain at home and will attend the virtual classes.
The school will remain flexible with those parents who are not comfortable to send their children to school. These children will also attend the virtual classes.
Any large gatherings / programmes/ assemblies/ contact sports etc. will be avoided.
The students will have staggered break times. They will maintain social distancing while being outside during the break and will be supervised by the teachers.
Social Distancing Marks to be placed at various locations keeping 6 ft. distance.
Specific protocols will be followed when students enter the school. Plans will be shared soon.
This is just a brief summary of how the learning will take place at the reopening of the school.
In order to ensure the safety of our students, we have opted the plan which allows students to attend classes both in the school and at home.
Kindly ensure that your child has a device (laptop or a tablet) as the current protocols encourage paperless learning to a great extent.
We also request you to sit with your child and go through all the essential protocols so that they understand how, while being at the school campus, they have to maintain their own well-being as well as of others.
Kindly ensure that your child is covered by medical insurance that covers Covid-19
While purchasing the sanitizing products for your child, please ensure that these are on the Dubai Municipality’s list of safe and approved products to use.
